How to modify CPU core and disable Hyper-threading in EC2

Limit the number of core available to your instance

Some of you already had the situation where you had to limit the no. of cores available to your instance due to licensing and disable hyper-threading due to performance reason of single threaded/CPU intensive application.

Although there are ways to disable a particular core / hyper-threading from OS, they are OS specific and require particular knowledge and skills do work with it.
